SUNSPHERE
SUNSPHERE Sunsphere, spherical micro-porous silica, has been jointly developed by Asahi Glass Co.,Ltd. and AGC Si-Tech Co.,Ltd.
Sunsphere is safe because it consists of amorphous silica. It contains no crystalline silica because it is derived from sodium silicate.
Sunsphere is mainly used for cosmetics in the worldwide market; additionally, as a resin filler and film topcoat in the Industrial market.

We launched surface treated silica gel, ET series based on our original technology. in Oct, 2006.

Characteristics of SunsphereCharacteristics of Sunsphere
  • Sunsphere consist of spherical particles which do not cohere. It provides excellent tactile feeling because these particles freely roll.
  • Sunsphere is safe because it consist of amorphous silica.
  • Sunsphere is multiporous and provides excellent moisture absorption capacity.
  • High oil absorption capacity grade can be used as drug carriers.
  • Sunsphere has excellent heat resistance property since it is derived from silica.
  • Non-porous series (NP-100, NP-30) provides quite hardness. On the contrary, High oil absorption grades (H-33, H-53) are weak against shearing stress and have a disintegration property.
  • ET series shows excellent water repellent and good dispersion for oil application, preparing innovative surface treatment technology.
